Although the beginning conditions for each country are historically accurate for the starting date you choose, once the game begins anything can happen. You can decide your own form of government, the structure of your society, trade politics and a variety of other elements. The possibilities are nearly endless.

Through the easy-to-use interface you can easily issue commands like moving your armies or constructing a workshop in one of your provinces. The many options available are shown in streamlined menus and you can easily find what you need in only two or three mouse clicks. The gameplay differs a bit from other strategy games in that it plays out in real time. However, you can adjust how fast or slow time passes or even pause the game to assign duties and plan out your moves.
